PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of compositing an image for obtaining a composite image from a plurality of images obtained by capturing an image of an object to be measured each by a plurality of imaging apparatuses suitable for a visual sensor used in an FA field, or the like, and to provide an image processing system for the image composition method. SOLUTION: After a reference plate is placed (step S100), a user adjusts an installation position, or the like so that a region of which the image should be captured by each imaging apparatus is within each imaging visual field. The user refers to a guide pattern appearing in a plurality of input images displayed on a monitor to roughly adjust the relative positions of adjacent input images to the plurality of input images displayed on the monitor. After that, a CPU searches feature points existing within a prescribed search range for the two adjacent input images (step S116), correlates the searched feature points mutually (step S118), and determines relative positions between the two input images (step S120).
