<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make each aspect ratio of phosphor material particles contained in a phosphor layer larger than an aspect ratio in the prior art to increase the contact areas between the particles and between the particles and partitions, thus improve the adhesion of the phosphor material to inhibit peeling of the phosphor layer. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A plasma display device includes a pair of boards which is arranged opposite to each other to form a discharge space between the boards and one of which is provided with partitions arranged to partition the discharge space into a plurality of partitioned spaces, a group of electrodes arranged on the board to cause electric discharge in the discharge spaces partitioned by the partitions, and a panel having phosphor layers of three colors that emit light of R (red), G (green), and B (blue) by electric discharge.
