<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lane maintenance support device that performs efficient lane maintenance support, wherein a processing load is reduced by specifying a country wherein a vehicle presently travels, narrowing down road environment to road environment specific to the specified country, and recognizing the road environment wherein the vehicle is currently traveling, from the narrowed-down road environment to perform lane maintenance support. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The lane maintenance support device has: a road environment storage part which associates and stores the country and the road environment of the country; a country information acquiring part acquiring country information showing the country wherein the vehicle presently travels; a road environment acquiring part for acquiring information of the road environment of the country, wherein the vehicle is currently traveling, with reference to the road environment storage part, based on the country information acquired by the country information acquiring part; a road environment recognizing part for narrowing down the road environment to the road environment shown by the information acquired by the road environment acquiring part, and recognizing the road environment, wherein the vehicle presently travels from the narrowed-down road environment; and a lane maintenance support part for performing lane maintenance support, corresponding to the road environment recognized by the road environment recognizing part.
