PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for chipping the circumference of an existing pipe, passing through a reinforced concrete wall, allowing chipping to the inside of the wall with excellent work efficiency without a repairing work of reinforcing bar. SOLUTION: This method for chipping the circumference of the steel pipe 5 passing through the reinforced concrete wall 3 includes a water jet chipping process for jetting water to the surface of the reinforced concrete wall to chip the reinforced concrete wall in the predetermined scope around the steel pipe, and a striking chipping process for chipping the wall by giving a striking force to the concrete. In the water jet chipping process, the pressure of the water jet is set to be 155-255 MPa, its flow rate is set to be 15-35L/min, and concrete is left in the predetermined scope around the steel pipe 5.
