SYSTEM FOR PERFORMING FINANCIAL TRANSACTION WITH CONNECTION TO IC CARD AND SETTOP BOX IN DIGITAL BROADCASTING ENVIRONMENT AND METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A financial transaction system in digital broadcasting environment and a method thereof are provided to perform financial transaction in interactive digital broadcasting environment. CONSTITUTION: A financial IC(integrated circuit) card(500) is connected to a set-top box(300) through a financial IC card reading unit(600). When a user performs a financial transaction, the set-top box obtains financial transaction information from the IC card. The set-top box transmits obtained financial transaction request information to a financial transaction relay system(100). The financial transaction relay system generates a telegram for the financial transaction. Transaction process result from a banking facility server is offered to the set-top box through the financial transaction relay system.
