PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor, a method for processing an image, and a program capable of quickly and efficiently generating a stroboscopic image. SOLUTION: The image processor generates consecutive multiple photographic frames, detects a frame to be composited among the generated photographic frames, obtains a pixel value for the same coordinate of the each detected frame; sorts the obtained pixel values according to the values; generates a background image based on a pixel value existing in the center of the sorted pixel values; extracts only subjects based on a difference between the generated background image and each frame to be composited, and composites the extracted subjects.
