PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To notify a user of a part replacement state in a unit provided on an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a control section 10 reading unit management information and part management information in an IC tag 70 which is attached to a unit and determining the necessity of part replacement in the unit based on the read unit management information and the part management information regarding each of the units U1 to Un through a reader/writer section 60 when a power source is turned on, when returning from a power save mode, or when a utility is started.
