The present invention relates to a method for allowing or suppressing a request for presenting information to a user from an application in an in-vehicle information system, comprising :
- a step (100) of determining whether the request is allowable in view of a present workload value (500) estimated from environmental sensor data, said workload value being representative of a workload experienced by the user; and
- a step (200) of evaluating whether the combined impressions perceived by the user from the ongoing applications (600) presenting information to the user plus the requested information presentation are within the limits of a pre-determined maximum user impression capacity.
