<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spline shaft and a method of manufacturing the same that secures proper gear assembling when press-fitted without causing looseness in the rotating direction or a variation on a press-fitting load due to improved surface roughness, and that galling can be prevented, and that provides simplicity in a press-fitting process. <P>SOLUTION: The spline shaft 10 is equipped with a plurality of spline keys 11 where a plurality of gears 41a/41b/41c are press-fitted in the circumferential direction, the large diameter of the spline shaft continuously varying in at least more than two stages in the axis direction, and first/second taper sections 15/16 are continuously formed among first/second/third splines 12/13/14, which configure stages to which the large diameter of the spline keys 11 and the teeth surfaces are adjacent. The large diameter of the spline keys 11, teeth surfaces and taper surfaces are formed by forged extrusion processing from a preliminary rough material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
