<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature measuring apparatus capable of accurately measuring a temperature of an object to be measured, using a thermocouple, which moves relative to a cold junction thereof. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The thermocouple 9 includes a thermocouple section 9a on the hot junction side and a thermocouple section 9b on the cold junction side which are relatively movably connected with a dissimilar metal material 23. The cold junction side of a compensating thermocouple 26 which measures a temperature change of the dissimilar metal material 23 is connected to one metal wire 30a of the thermocouple section 9b on the cold junction side and the dissimilar metal material 23, and the compensating thermocouple 26 is connected in series, and there are provided junctions 32 and 33 of the thermocouple section 9a on the hot junction side and the dissimilar metal material 23, a first soaking means 34 for a hot junction 27 of the compensating thermocouple 26, a junction 36 of the dissimilar metal material 23 and the other metal wire 30b of the thermocouple section 9b on the cold junction side, a junction 37 of the dissimilar metal material 23 and the compensating thermocouple 26, and a second soaking means 29 for a junction 38 of the compensating thermocouple 26 and the one metal wire 30a.
