PURPOSE: A piston for a compressor and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to reduce the piston manufacturing cost by uniting the piston body and the cap through insert injection instead of friction welding. CONSTITUTION: A piston for a compressor comprises a piston body(117) and a cap(118). A hollow(117') is formed inside the body. The cap has a joint(119) which is inserted to an opening of the hollow and pressed on the inner surface of the hollow. Molten resin(I) is inserted in a cavity to unite the body and the cap, where the cavity is formed by the inner surface of the hollow and one side of the cap facing the hollow.
