The guide (2) has high-strength guide plates (15) made of hard metal and/or ceramic. The plates are spaced from each other under formation of gap (18) and attached to a holding plate (14) for lateral guidance of a saw belt (3) or a saw leaf. The guide plates have edges (16) arranged upstream with respect to a movement direction of the belt or the leaf, where the edges are partially formed as straight or provided with a continuous curvature. The edges or tangents of the edges are inclined at an angle between 20 and 70 degrees in the direction. |
