<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding apparatus capable of certainly placing a material to be molded by a receiving molding die and a method of manufacturing an optical molded article. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The molding apparatus 1 is one to press the material S to be molded and fabricate the optical molded article S'. The apparatus has the receiving molding die 2 that has the placement surface 21 on which the material S to be molded is placed and the mold frame 3 that is arranged in the circumference of this receiving molding die 2 to guide the pressing position of the press mold 4.
