<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the safety of the operation of a laser treatment device and to reduce burdens on an operator. <P>SOLUTION: The laser treatment device 11 includes a probe 24 for treatment, a probe 23 for observation, an image processing portion 67, a lesion elimination determination portion 69, and a CPU 68. The probe 24 for the treatment is provided in an insertion portion 16 to be inserted into a blood vessel and applies a laser toward the blood vessel facing the outer periphery of the insertion portion 16 to eliminate a lesion included in the blood vessel. The probe 23 for the observation is provided in the insertion portion 16 together with the probe 24 for the treatment, scans the blood vessel and detects signals for obtaining the tomographic image 72 of the blood vessel. The image processing portion 67 generates the tomographic image 72 on the basis of the signals detected by the probe 23 for the observation.
