<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of exchanging and calibrating an assembly for jetting droplets of a viscous medium. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The assembly for jetting droplets of a viscous medium is releasably mounted in a machine using the assembly for providing deposits to a substrate and comprises an assembly holder having a first holding means mating with an assembly support of a docking device of the machine. The method comprises: a step of exchanging the assembly with an exchange assembly; a step of moving the exchange assembly up to a calibration surface; a step of depositing a plurality of deposits onto the calibration surface; a step of detecting positions of the plurality of deposits by looking at the deposits with an observation instrument included in the machine; and a step of detecting deviation of positions from the estimated positions.
