Welding of thick components.. M7-. Applies to wall sections where the thickness exceeds 200 mm subjected to electric welding and resulting in a high strength join. The associated transverse sections are welded in three phases so that the central portion situated between the core zones is filled with welding metal in the vertical position whereas the two external portions situated between the edge zones of the transverse section are filled with welding metal in the horizontal position. The operation is best carried out using powder and the multilayer technique. |
