PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practical method for stably producing high-purity dibenzylidene alditols by an easily controllable reaction and enabling recycled use of the reaction liquid. SOLUTION: The method for producing dibenzylidene alditols comprises condensation reaction of an aromatic aldehyde with alditol in an aqueous medium in the presence of an acid catalyst and neutralization of the reaction liquid to obtain dibenzylidene alditols. In the production method, a compatibilizer for the aromatic aldehyde and the alditol is added to the aqueous medium in an amount of 3-7 times weight based on the aromatic aldehyde.
