<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a SIMD type microprocessor which simultaneously processes much more image data at higher speed without increasing a circuit scale and layout scale and declining processing speed during data transfer. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The SIMD type processor is constructed in such a way that a local register writing bus B1 and reading bus B2 in a PE are connected to an ALU input bus B3 in a neighboring PE and an ALU output bus B4 in the neighboring PE through a two port register or connection busses between PEs, B6 and B7, the ALU input bus B3 and ALU output bus B4 in the PE are connected to the local register writing bus B1 and local register reading bus B2 in the neighboring PE through the connection busses between PEs, B6, and B7, and GP section 2 switches a route to use them for the data transfer between the two port register 4 and the PE array 3.
