PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pinball game machine which can comparatively reduce the burden of a game control apparatus accompanying the determination of temporarily definite patterns in the display control of special patterns in a variable displaying means. SOLUTION: A winning/missing determination is performed conforming to the establishment of predetermined starting conditions during the game, and special patterns are variably displayed on special pattern displaying regions 28 to 30 conforming to a jackpot determination result. Then, before the special patterns are definitely displayed, temporarily definite patterns are displayed for a specified period of time. In this case, when the jackpot determination is made conforming to the winning/missing determination by the establishment of the predetermined starting conditions during the game before the variable display of the special patterns is started, the temporarily definite patterns are determined utilizing arbitrary patterns from among the stopped patterns which were stop-displayed in the past, e.g., the right pattern of the last time and the two times ahead. Adopting this method, the temporarily definite patterns which are displayed on the display screen of a special pattern display apparatus 16 are determined conforming to a specified regularity.
