<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide soft magnetic alloy power for a dust core with which the moldability of the dust core and DC superposition characteristics can be obtained with suppression of generation of rust. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Since the soft magnetic alloy powder contains Cr of 1.0 to 5.0 mass% and a remaining part is composed of Fe and inevitable impurities, generation of rust can be suppressed. Further, since a content of Cr in the soft magnetic alloy power is smaller than that of conventional soft magnetic alloy powder and optimized, the moldability of the dust core can be enhanced and the DC superposition characteristics can be improved. When the soft magnetic alloy power is manufactured by an atomizing method, alloy components can be easily controlled and there are advantages for improving productivity.
