The invention relates to a method, device (4) and a system (1) for detecting and processing viewing data which concerns the visual behaviour of users, when viewing video information. Said device and system determine information concerning the lines of vision of a user in relation to the viewed video information by the direct projection of video information onto the user's retina (51) and by the determination of the current positions of the user's eye. These positions are transmitted via a telecommunication network (3) to a central unit (2) for further processing. Said further processing involves comparing the current eye positions with predetermined values and as a result of this comparison, triggering predetermined events and/or storing the aforementioned viewing data in the central unit (2), for example, for subsequent statistical evaluation.
