PURPOSE: A method for providing a region based broadcasting service using digital multimedia broadcasting, and an apparatus and a method for receiving a region based broadcasting service according to the method are provided to supply a region or location based DMB service, thereby providing profitable information about a specific region or providing various information related to a location to a viewer who moves. CONSTITUTION: A location information obtaining unit(601) obtains location information of a receiving device. A broad area data receiving unit(602) extracts broad area service data and local area common control information from a broad broadcasting signal. A local area data receiving unit(603) receives a local area broadcasting signal corresponding to a current location using the obtained location information and the extracted local area common control information and extracts local area service data. An LBS(Location Base Service) processor(604) receives corresponding extraction information from the broad or local area data receivers and provides it to an LBS.
