PURPOSE: An EGR gas cooling system is provided to control the temperature of the EGR gas according to the temperature of the cooling water without an additional bypass pipe because the EGR gas exhausted through the exhaust manifold is recirculated to an intake manifold through an EGR cooler. CONSTITUTION: An EGR gas cooling system comprises an EGR(Exhaust Gas Recirculation) cooler(200) and a thermostat(400). The EGR cooler transmits the EGR gas flowed in from an exhaust manifold(110) to an intake manifold(120). The thermostat transmits the cooling water to the EGR cooler to cool the EGR gas passing the EGR cooler if the temperature of the cooling water is more than the preset temperature.
