<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side ditch with a cover member, which excels in drainage performance of rainwater etc., and hardly causes, clogging of an opening of the cover member with deposit of foreign matters without performing a cleaning work. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A recessed channel is vertically formed in a longitudinally middle part of a side face of the cover member 2 to obtain a rainwater falling port 7. An inclined lower face 12 is formed under the side face of the cover member away from the rainwater falling port, in a manner of inclining downward to the width directional center of the cover member so that it can be placed on a supporting part 5, and an engaging projection 13 is formed between the inclined lower surface and the rainwater falling port. A fitting space 14 having an open top and a platform face 11 serving as the bottom is formed at an upper inside part of each of two sidewall parts 4 under the rainwater falling port and between two supporting parts spaced away in a flow down direction in a flow passage. A linear projecting part 16 having the platform face serving as the upper surface is formed below the fitting space and the supporting part in the state of being integrated with the supporting part in the longitudinal direction of the sidewall part. A rainwater introducing opening 6 communicating with the fitting space from an outside surface of the sidewall part is formed in at least one of the two sidewall parts, and the rainwater introducing opening opens laterally toward the platform face of the fitting space.
