NANOPARTICULATE FIBRATE FORMULATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fibrate formulation with improved drug dynamic profiles and reduced fluctuations between eating/fasting conditions.

SOLUTION: The stable fibrate composition is composed of fibrate particles having effective average particle sizes of about less than 2,000 nm bound on their surfaces with at least one surface stabilizer wherein the surface stabilizer includes other than PEG derived vitamin E. The surface stabilizer is preferably selected from a group such as hypromellose, docusate sodium and sodium lauryl sulfate.
