<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser beam machining apparatus that is simply structured and capable of easily forming a recess inside a container, and also to provide a laser beam machining method. <P>SOLUTION: In the laser beam machining apparatuses 100, 100a, 100b, 100c, a laser beam machine 200 and a storage container 500 are relatively moved, so that an engagement part 523b is easily formed in the inner peripheral part of the storage container 500 by means of laser emitted from the laser beam machine 200.
