MIDDLEWARE FOR PROVIDING VOICE/IMAGE COMMUNICATION SERVICE BY USING APPLICATION PROGRAM INTERFACE IN USER UNIT OF INTERNET PROTOCOL TELEVISION

PURPOSE: Middleware for providing voice/image communication services by using an application program interface is provided to supply voice/image communication functions which become components to an external application, thereby extending the voice/image communication functions. CONSTITUTION: A call controller(422) waits for a receiving message. A state manager(421) monitors a resource use state of a user terminal. A graphic controller(423) decides the resolution of a voice/image communications screen. A multimedia controller decides a codec to be used for voice/image communication.
