<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric blower capable of making high efficiency and low noise compatible, though the efficiency improvement and noise reduction of the blower are in a trade-off relationship and difficult to be compatible, and a vacuum cleaner equipped with the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A through-hole is formed on a surface of a diffuser blade situated in an area surrounded by outermost diameter positions of diffuser blades adjacent to each other in the blower, a rotational center, and a fan casing. The through-hole reduces blade noise which is dominant in blower noise by causing the interference of the blade noise on both sides of the blade surface. The through-hole is also used for boundary layer control which makes an in-diffuser flow smoother. Thus, the efficiency of the blower is improved. Ž<P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT Ž
