PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience of a compositing image file by adding photography information to the composited image file. SOLUTION: When creating one composite image by linking a plurality of images, composited image data CDp are created from image data, of images A-C, stored in an image data storage region 40 of an image file Fp and the composited image data CDp are stored in an image data storage region 50 of the composited image file CFp. Meanwhile, "camera information" and "date and time of photography" are extracted from an additional data storage region 42 of a reference image file Fp (image B) that serves as a reference, when compositing processing of "super wide-angle photograph compositing" is performed, and the "camera information" and the "date and time of photography" are stored in an additional data storage region 52 of the composited image file CFp. As a result, the composited image file CFp is created that stores the composited image data CDp and the additional data comprising the "camera information" and "date and time of photography", in association with each other.
