PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head lamp device for a motorcycle which can start the operation of changing an radiation range of a head lamp with a favorable timing in agreement with the time of starting a turn. SOLUTION: The head lamp device for the motorcycle is provided with a head lamp 12 for irradiating the front of the vehicle body, a light distribution adjusting mechanism 16 for changing the range of the radiation of the head lamp 12, a bank angle detection means 19, and a means 20 for controlling the light distribution. The bank angle detection means detects a bank angleδof the vehicle body based on rotation angle speedωy about the up-and-down axial center, rotation angle speedωr about the front-and-rear axial center of the vehicle body, and vehicle speed v. Then, the means for controlling light distribution controls the light distribution adjusting mechanism 16 based on the bank angleδof the vehicle body, and changes the radiation range so that at least the distant inner location in the turning direction can be irradiated at the time of making a turn.
