<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate an image processing operation required for synthesizing a foreground object, such as a person, on arbitrary backgrounds. <P>SOLUTION: A cutout processing part 102 detects a foreground region including a foreground object, a background region, and their border region on processing object image data including the foreground object.
