PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply device capable of exchanging easily a protection element and an electronic component to carry out a prescribed operation. SOLUTION: The power supply device 18 for supplying power to electronic equipment is provided with a case 7' which has a battery holding part 20' to hold batteries 4a-4d, an aperture, and a housing chamber to house the battery holding part 20', a battery lid 8' which can open and close the aperture of the case 7', electronic components 24a, 24b which receive power supply from the batteries 4a-4d and carry out prescribed operations, and protection elements 14a, 14b which, when reaching prescribed temperatures by heating from the batteries 4a-4d, reduce or shut off power supply from the batteries 4a-4d to the electronic equipment. At least one of the battery holding part 20' and the battery lid 8' is a member detachable from the case 7' and the protection elements 14a, 14b and the electronic components 24a, 24b are installed on the detachable member.
