PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a technology for easily determining that the number of colors to be expressed by output image data is less than that of colors to be expressed by input image data. SOLUTION: An image processor includes an image processing means for carrying out a level correction of the image data, a setting means for setting a correction value of the level correction, a calculating means for calculating the number of colors of the image data after the level correction is carried out based on the correction value set by the setting means, a determining means for determining a threshold of the number of colors of the image data given after the level correction is carried out, a comparing means for comparing the threshold determined by the determining means with the number of colors of image data determined after the level correction is carried out, and a notifying means for notifying a user of the comparison results given by the comparing means.
