PURPOSE: A tightening torque detection unit is provided to reduce an error about the tightening direction by positioning an output value close to an actual torque value. CONSTITUTION: A tightening torque detection unit comprises a torque sensor(12) and an amplifier. The torque sensor detects the tightening torque. The amplifier amplifies the output from the torque sensor. If the tightening direction is right or left, the amplifier applies the different gain to the output from the torque sensor. The amplifier comprises a right rotation amplifier(40) and a left rotation amplifier(42). A switcher(22) is connected to the right rotation amplifier and the left rotation amplifier. The switcher converts the right rotation amplifier and the left rotation amplifier and performs the amplification.
