The apparatus i.e. validation terminal (1) has a signal emitting source constituted by a series of LEDs (7). A Cover (6) in the form of frame, is partially formed in a translucent material to form a diffuser of light radiations emitted by the light source situated behind an inner surface of the cover at the right of the translucent part. The LEDs are placed inside the cover close to the inner surface of the cover. Front surface (3) of the terminal includes a display (4), and a detection zone (5) of a radiofrequency identification card type badge is provided under the display.
