<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for a baking paste, in which the amount of baking residue during baking and especially the amount of a hardly decomposable product occurring in the final phase of thermal decomposition is small. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A polymer for a baking paste containing constitution units derived from a monomer represented by general formula (1) is provided, together with the resin composition for a baking paste containing the same. In formula (1), R<SP>1</SP>to R<SP>3</SP>are each independently a 1-8C alkyl or alkoxy group; and R<SP>4</SP>and R<SP>5</SP>are each independently a hydrogen atom or a 1-8C alkyl or alkoxy group.
