PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform easy and efficient separation work while enabling noninvasive separation of tissues. SOLUTION: A separating instrument includes a separation tip 2 at a distal end of a rod 1. A cross-sectional surface perpendicular to an axis of the separation chip 2 is formed into a figure with a constant width, excluding a round shape (for example, Reuleaux polygons), a shape of a figure with an approximately constant width (for example, polygons with orbiform curves which are similar to Reuleaux polygons), a shape formed to have corner parts of a regular polygon (including approximately regular polygons) which are formed into curves respectively with an appropriate curvature, a regular polygon (including approximately regular polygons) having six or more corners, or a shape which is formed to have corner parts of a regular polygon (including approximately regular polygons) formed into curves with an appropriate curvature and has an inward dent formed on each side.
