PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration of accuracy of a paper feeding position at the time of continuous printing. SOLUTION: In this printer 1, an upstream side conveying roller 11 and a downstream side conveying roller 14 are driven together for paper feeding. An upstream side conveyance control means 42 stops an upstream side drive motor 32 so that a conveyance amount by the upstream side conveying roller 11 after a sensor 36 detects new print media P continuously fed is set to a predetermined conveyance amount. A downstream side conveyance control means 41 starts the driving of the downstream side conveying roller 14 in paper feeding control after the driving of the upstream side conveying roller 11. Also, the downstream side conveyance control means 41 stops a downstream side drive motor 31 to stop the downstream side conveying roller 14 when the conveyance amount by the upstream side conveying roller 11 after the sensor 36 detects new print media P continuously fed is set to the predetermined conveyance amount.
