The invention relates to a novel mixture of carbohydrates and to the use thereof for preparing a food product for oral or enteral nutrition, especially for feeding a diabetic patient, and especially for feeding a patient with type II diabetes and the associated comorbidity. The carbohydrate mixture according to the invention consists of type IV resistant starch or RS IV (modified maltodextrin), maltodextrin with a low level of dextrose equivalent to DE = 5-8, preferably DE equal to 6, inulin and cellulose, and does not comprise fructose.
