The method involves fixing a bonnet (21) to a rule mechanism i.e. cage device (10) by a retention device i.e. threaded bolt. The bonnet is taken out using the rule mechanism. The bonnet is aligned over the rule mechanism within a front area and a rear area of a body (12) of a motor vehicle by stoppers and is fastened at the body. The rule mechanism is aligned in a vehicle vertical direction (16) within the front area of the body of the motor vehicle in a vehicle longitudinal direction (14). An independent claim is also included for a cage form rule mechanism comprising rod elements.
