<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide runner vanes of a diagonal flow hydraulic turbine and axial flow hydraulic turbine which realizes the enhancement of cavitation performance while expanding an operation range. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A plurality of main vanes are arranged with prescribed intervals in a circumferential direction on a runner boss. Auxiliary vanes in which the length of a vane in a rotary axial line direction of the runner boss is shorter than that of the main vane, are respectively provided between the main vanes. Thus, a larger outlet area of the runner is secured. By shifting an inlet end or outlet end of the auxiliary vane to a pressure surface or load surface of the main vane, the pressure difference between the pressure surface or load surface of the main vane is relaxed to enhance the cavitation performance of the main vane.
