[Class 68 (ii).] A flap gate g at the entrance to a dock &c. when raised into closed position, as shown, is retained by a pair of vertically hinged swing gates w, which, when not in use, may lie flat on the dockentrance wall or be recessed therein, but to hold the gate g when closed are swung out so that their outer edges bear against the outside of the gate at a suitable angle to meet the strain. |
