<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a catalyst, which can manufacture a catalyst usable as an exhaust purification catalyst which forms noble metal nanocluster on the surface of a carrier made of a composite oxide including Ce and Bi and oxygen for improving purification performance for harmful gases such as carbon hydride (HC) and carbon monoxide (CO) in the exhaust gas of a diesel engine. <P>SOLUTION: After noble metal particles of Pt or the like are dispersed and supported in the carrier made of a composite oxide containing Ce and Bi and oxygen as components, the noble metal particles are protected by an organic molecule, and thereafter, the organic molecule is baked and carbonated by heat treatment in an inert gas atmosphere. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
