PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform high-precision positioning by reducing the influence of jitter. SOLUTION: The positioning system 8 comprises a mobile station 10 for transmitting/receiving a radio signal, base stations 12A to D for transmitting/receiving the radio signal, and a storage section 45 for storing the correlation between reception signal time dispersion and reception signal intensity, which was calculated in advance. The mobile station 10 transmits an adjustment radio signal prior to a distance measuring radio signal. The base stations 12A to D transmit an output control instruction signal for the distance measuring radio signal from the mobile station 10 on the basis of the correlation in accordance with the reception signal intensity of the adjustment radio signal.
