PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molded body of polytetrafluoroethylene excellent in terminal workability, adhesion to a core wire, electric properties and mechanical strength. SOLUTION: The molded body of polytetrafluoroethylene shows at least one heat absorption peak in a temperature range of 340±15°C on a crystal melting curve drawn with a differential scanning calorimeter, an amount of heat of melting at 290-350°C calculated from the crystal melting curve is≥62 mJ/mg, and the molded body has a thermal instability index of≥20 and a thermal decomposition initiation temperature of≤420°C. The polytetrafluoroethylene contains a modified monomer unit other than a tetrafluoroethylene unit in an amount of 0-0.06 mass% of all monomer units. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
