AUTOMATIC WINDER AND PACKAGE WINDING METHOD FOR AUTOMATIC WINDER

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic winder capable of winding (manufacturing) a package with appropriate winding tension considering characteristics of a winding unit while causing no damage to a thread without providing a tension sensor for measuring the winding tension of the thread during winding. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The automatic winder comprises the winding unit 1 winding the thread Y unwound from a plurality of thread supply bobbins 3, on the package P to manufacture the package P; a tenser 6 applying tension to the thread Y wound on the package P; and a controller 20 having a tension control part for controlling a driving part 27 of the tenser by feedforward based on a preset tension pattern to apply predetermined tension to the thread. The preset tension pattern is a tension applying pattern set based on a measured tension value obtained by manufacturing a sample package and measuring tension applied to a thread during the manufacture of the sample package by a tension sensor.
