PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a metal-coated aromatic polyimide film is provided. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a metal-coated aromatic polyimide film comprises the following steps of: preparing aromatic polyimide from aromatic tetracarboxylic anhydride and 4,4'- diaminodiphenyl ether; electrically discharging an aromatic polyimide film containing a polyimide layer where the aromatic polyimide is included; generating a protrusion with average height of 0.03 ~ 0.1 μm on the surface of the aromatic polyimide film; and forming two or more metal films on the surface of the aromatic polyimide film including the protrusion. The aromatic polyimide is coated with a polyimide surface layer. The aromatic polyimide has biphenyl tetracarboxylic acid units within the molecular thereof.
