PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently produce a film with excellent optical characteristics. SOLUTION: A dope 12 flows out of a casting die 25 and forms a cast film 14 on a casting drum 13. The cast film 14 is gelled by cooling to have self-supporting property. A release roller 29 peels the cast film 14 as a moist film 38. A transfer part 17 includes a carrying roller group 39. Each carrying roller 39a-39z constituting the carrying roller group 39 support and carry the moist film 38 containing a large quantity of solvent. The drive rollers 39a and 39b are provided as the uppermost stream side and lowermost stream side carrying rollers of the carrying roller group 39. The downstream drive roller 39b is rotated under the control of a drive control part 56 so as to be larger in circumferential speed than the drive roller 39a.
