<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible in a software development-supporting device both to retrieve a desired part in a block diagram and to identify a block element composed of the same pattern in the block diagram to improve efficiency in block diagram maintenance work. <P>SOLUTION: A software development-supporting device 1 automatically generates a program from a block diagram.
