<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which prevents costs from increasing, removes factors which inhibits downsizing, and reduces mechanical noise released outside a chassis. <P>SOLUTION: The printer 1 is equipped with a chassis in which a front opening 9a is installed for supplying printing papers 4. Several noise releasing holes 30 for dispersing mechanical noise generated from a recording head 20, etc. inside the chassis and releasing such mechanical noise as released noise Sb are provided on the lower case 3 for placing the chassis on a placing surface 60 in order to reduce the released noise Sf released from the front opening 9a.
